Three Finalists for Muscatine City Administrator

After a nationwide search, the Muscatine City Council has chosen three finalists for the job of City Administrator. A consultant selected the top 14 from the applications, and they were interviewed by video conference last week.

The three finalists are:

Kevin Catlin who is the City Manager for Springfield, Michigan,

Jerry Gabrielatos, now the Assistant City Manager in Albert Lea, Minnesota,

and Carol Webb - she works for the city of Fort Collins, Colorado as Deputy Utilities Director.

Video interviews are available on the Muscatine website, and residents are also invited to fill out a survey about each candidate - they're due by Thursday night.

The city council will meet on Friday to consider the surveys and candidates, and it hopes to have the new City Administrator in place by August 1st.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
