More than half of Scott County voters will cast their ballots before next Tuesday. That's what Roxanna Moritz, Auditor and Election Commissioner, estimates one week before the general election.
So far, she say more than 56,000 county residents have requested absentee ballots, and 84% of them have already been returned. Moritz expects around 65,000 people to vote early by mail or in person with seven days to go before election day.
Early voting is available at the Scott County Administration building, the Bettendorf Community Center, Scott County Library in Eldridge, and Davenport's Fairmount and Eastern Avenue libraries.

About 1,000 people per day are voting at the libraries.
Moritz says four years ago, voter turnout was low, around 68%. In 2012 it was 71-72%, and in 2008 it was around 73%. Her estimate for this year is around 71% which should help on election night.
On election day, Scott County voters usually cast their ballots in person at 63 polling places. But because of the pandemic, the number of polling places may be reduced. So voters will need to double check where to go on Tuesday, November 3rd.
