'Talking Art' with Keenan Odenkirk

The hilariously irreverent holiday play Santaland Diaries, based on the essay by David Sedaris and adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello, will be performed Dec 12-15, 2019 at the Brunner Theatre Center on the Augustana College campus.  Starring Keenan Odenkirk, this Mississippi Bend Players’ production is certain to entertain as he recounts his experience working at Macy’s in New York City during the busy holiday season dressed as Crumpet the elf.

Listen to our conversation here with recent Augustana graduate Keenan Odenkirk about how he prepared for this solo production, why the play with its anti-hero Crumpet resonates so much with audiences, and what theatre and acting has caused him to learn about himself.

Tickets can be purchased for $20 at the door or online. Shows are Thurs Dec 12, Fri Dec 13 and Sat Dec 14 at 7:30 PM, and on Sun Dec 15 at 2:00 PM.  Be prepared to laugh your way through this production, which is intended for mature audiences!
