Storm Extends Coach's Contract

Quad City Storm

Despite the shortened season, owners of the Quad City Storm are pleased with the team's performance. Friday they announced a two-year contract extension for head coach Dave Pszenczny.

In his second season with the Storm, he raised the team’s winning percentage significantly and the Storm qualified for the playoffs.

Storm owner John Dawson also announced that Storm President Gwen Tombergs will step down and join the United Way as its Vice President of Development. But she'll also remain as a consultant to the team.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
