Employees of an eastern Iowa steel mill want to help the less fortunate residents of their community. Tuesday SSAB Iowa will pledge 80,000 dollars to the United Way of Muscatine.
This is the 5th year the company and its nearly 500 employees have contributed to the United Way. The latest gift will bring their total donations to nearly half a million dollars.
SSAB says its employees also volunteer their time for United Way programs like food drives and a bowl-a-thon for children's education.
A check presentation is set for 11 am at the SSAB plant in Muscatine.
