Should Elliott Aviation Pay Property Taxes?

It's now up to the Illinois Supreme Court to decide whether Elliott Aviation has to pay property taxes. Last week, the high court heard oral arguments about the constitutionality of a state law that gives the company a permanent tax exemption. Elliott is a private company and Fixed-Base Operator that leases land from the Quad City Airport.

On today's WVIK News Focus, Michelle O'Neill reports the Moline School District challenged the law, saying it would lose $150,000 a year in tax revenue.

Officially, Michelle's title for 28 years was WVIK News Editor. She did everything there is to do in the newsroom and whatever was needed around the radio station. She also served as Acting News Director from September 2023 - January 2024.
