Second Round of Aid for Davenport Small Businesses

Marianna Bacallao, WVIK News

Small businesses in Davenport will receive more aid from the CARES Act. The city opened up applications for a second round of funding this week.

Businesses with fewer than 50 employees could receive up to $20,000 dollars in forgivable loans under the Small Business Resiliency Project.

Trisha Collins owns Polished Hair Lounge in downtown Davenport. She says the first round of aid saved her business.

“That money was the difference between closing and being able to stay open. It helped us to be able to pay our rent, write checks for the staff. It gave us a little bit of a cushion as far as maintaining our supply level of products.”

The application will stay open while funds are available.
