Second Intelligent Conversation Features Nicholas Kristof

An award winning reporter, commentator, and author will keynote the second annual Intelligent Conversation event, hosted by WVIK. Entitled "A Path Appears: An Intelligent Conversation about Real People Working to the Change the World," it will feature Nicholas Kristof.

Herb Trix reports.

Nicholas Kristof will speak at the River Center in Davenport on Thursday April 11. The event will also feature a panel discussion by some local residents who are "Real People Working to Change the World."

Doors open at 5:30 and the program begins at 6 pm.

This event is made possible by support from the Joyce and Tony Singh Family Foundation. Support also comes from Genesis Health System and Ms. Susan Sharar and Mr. Leo Schubert.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
