Following their election in November, government leaders for Scott County were sworn in Wednesday morning.

The ceremony included incumbents beginning new terms, County Attorney Mike Walton and Recorder Rita Vargas, and the beginning of his first term in office for County Treasurer Mike Fennelly.

Two new members of the County Board were sworn in, Ken Croken and John Maxwell, along with Brinson Kinzer who won another term in the fall.

Members of the board re-elected Tony Knobbe to serve a second term as chair, along with Ken Beck who'll serve again as vice chair.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
