Santorum Visits QC

WVIK Staff

Rick Santorum took time off last night from his usual focus, politics, to devote some time to another favorite subject. After a couple of days of campaigning for Iowa republicans, the former presidential candidate and Pennsylvania US senator, was the keynote speaker in Davenport at a fund-raiser for the Women's Choice Center of the Quad Cities.

Santorum says centers like this one are a key part of pro-life movement.

He says these center show women they do have a choice, and they can choose life.

After an unsuccessful bid for president two years ago, Santorum is considering running again, but hasn't made a decision yet.

Running is an option only if you lay the groundwork.

Santorum is chairman of Patriot Voices, a group committed to "faith, family, freedom, and opportunity." And he's the ceo of EchoLight Studios, described as a faith and family film company.

In Iowa this week, he visited several GOP campaign offices, and appeared with Congressman Steve King in Sioux City.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
