Starting this weekend, Latino voters in Iowa will be reminded that "your vote is your voice." On Saturday, the League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, will launch its Informed Voter Project, to make sure the 50,000 Hispanic voters in Iowa are armed with the information they need for the November election.

Maria Bribriesco is the Deputy Director of LULAC in Iowa. She says with mailers, door-knockers, and robo calls, Iowans are drowning in political advertisements. But, she hopes taking a more personal, one-on-one approach will help catch the attention of Hispanic voters.
She'll set up tables at weddings, birthday parties, and family reunions. And provide information about the two-party system, third parties, and ways to vote in Iowa.
Bribriesco says this year's election is especially important because it could set the tone for the next 20 years.
"I believe that in this election cycle, we are going to be the force that determines who wins," Bribriesco says.
LULAC of Iowa will kick off the Informed Voter Project on Saturday (9/10) during the VIVA! Quad Cities Festival in Bettendorf.
