QCHI Celebrates 20 Years

Quad City Health Initiative

The Quad City Health Initiative is celebrating 20 years of helping the community. Wednesday it held a program to recognize its accomplishments.

The group's mission is to increase the health of the Quad Cities by "bringing the right people and resources to the right place at the right time."

Executive Director Nicole Carkner says this morning was a celebration of the cross-sector community partnerships that the health initiative has made in the Quad Cities.

"We know that what creates health lies beyond healthcare, and we really want the engagement of all sectors of our community in creating health. So, today was really a celebration of that collaboration in the Quad Cities and that engagement of leaders from across the community to contribute to a healthy community."

Joining the celebration were Dr. Ngozi Ezike, the Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health and Dr. Gerd Clabaugh, the Director of the Iowa Department of Public Health.
