As the end of the current fiscal year approaches, Black Hawk College is taking the final steps to prepare a budget for next year. Monday night, trustees discussed a draft budget recommended by chief financial officer Steve Frommelt.
He says the 36 million dollar budget will be basically the same as this year, with no major changes even in state support.
The new property tax rate is just two-tenths of a cent higher than last year - at 54 1/2 cents per 100 dollars assessed value. And the owner of a 150,000 dollar home in the Black Hawk College district will pay an additional one dollar this year.
Frommelt says the new budget will be officially presented to the board of trustees next month, with final adoption expected in June.
The new fiscal year for the college begins July lst.
