Police host holiday outing for seniors in Davenport

Dec 9, 2019

Davenport's 25th annual senior holiday light tour is scheduled for tonight (Mon). Around 500 seniors will get on buses to enjoy the tour with police escorts to two neighborhoods.

Corporal Hank Jacobsen from the police department says it'll last over an hour with almost 40 buses.

"A lot of the seniors are repeat costumers. [They] come back year after year because it is such a great experience for them. It gets them out [and] they don't have to drive. It's done for them."

He says many homeowners know the seniors will tour their neighborhood and go all out to decorate.

River Bend Transit and Durham buses will pick up seniors around 6 pm and then start the tour at 7 pm.
