Even though the Mississippi Valley Fair was canceled this summer because of the pandemic, there's still a chance to get your fill of corn dogs, funnel cakes, and taffy. The Fair Food Fest will be held on the fairgrounds in Davenport Friday and Saturday.
Fair General Manager Shawn Loter says at least six vendors will set up and offer a variety of old favorites, including barbecue, chinese food, and pizza.
"I mean with everything going on, and I think people really, really miss it. And I think that people who would not normally go to the fair say you know what, let's go because there may not be a lot of people that they have to mess with, and they can drive right up, run in, grab some food, and take off."
The hours on Friday and Saturday will be 10 am to midnight, along with the usual weekend entertainment - bands, stock car races, and a demolition derby.
