A man wanted for a murder in New Mexico 31 years ago has been found in the Quad Cities. Today, Moline Police announced they've arrested 62-year-old Valentin Vasquez, who is charged with the 1984 murder of his brother-in-law.

On November 29th, police responded to a traffic crash involving Vasquez. Officers believed he was lying about his identity, which led to a thorough investigation. They learned his real name, and discovered he's wanted by Albuquerque New Mexico Police for the shooting death of Juan Gutierrez.

Police believe Vasquez has been living in Moline under a false identity since 1988. He's being held at the Rock Island County Jail awaiting extradition to New Mexico.
