More rain over the weekend means more flooding by rivers in this area.
The National Weather Service says the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities has reached 1 foot over flood stage on Monday, and is expected to continue rising to 1.8 feet over flood stage by Thursday. And that's considered "moderate flooding."
Downstream at Muscatine, the forecast is for a crest 3 feet over flood stage on Thursday, and a crest 4.5 feet over flood stage at Burlington, considered "major flooding," also by Thursday.
The Wapsipinicon River at DeWitt is cresting now, nearly 3 feet over flood stage, and should hold at that level for several days.
The Rock River at Joslin is already 4 feet over flood stage on Monday and is expected to go up another 2 feet through Thursday. While at Moline, the Rock is 1.7 feet over flood stage today and should crest later this week at 3 feet over.
