Moline Superintendent Finalists

This week, the Moline  school board will interview three finalists for district superintendent.

One of the finalists is an internal candidate. That's Brian Prybil, principal of Washington Elementary in Moline.

Another finalist comes from the Chicago suburb of Saint Charles. That's where Kelley Anne Gallt serves as Chief Academic Officer of that school district.

The third finalist works in Waterloo, Iowa. Rachel Savage is the head principal of the Waterloo School District.

The Moline school board plans to pick a new superintendent by mid-January. He or she wouldn't begin until July 1st. That's when current superintendent Lanty McGuire is set to retire.

The school board is using a consultant based in Minnesota called School Exec Connect to help with the search.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
