Moline Police Ask for Public Help in Fatal Hit & Run

Moline detectives are asking for help finding a hit and run driver after the death of a 20-year-old man.

Early Tuesday morning, around 12:30, a police officer found the man's body lying on the pavement in the 3600 block of John Deere Road.

Police say the evidence shows the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

And investigors think he was walking east on John Deere Road when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle, which left the scene.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead, and an autopsy is scheduled for today.

Moline traffic investigators are asking anyone with information to call the police department at 309.524.2210 or Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at 309.762.9500. People may also use a free mobile phone app called, "P3Tips."
