Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence will attend a GOP fundraiser in the Quad Cities.

The governor of Indiana will speak at the Scott County Republican Party's 8th annual Ronald Reagan dinner Tuesday night.

Chairwoman Judy Davidson says they confirmed Pence's appearance at the dinner Monday morning.

"I'm sure we'll hear how he and Donald Trump can move America forward and provide the kind of leadership that the country so desperately needs at this point," she says.

The Reagan dinner is the party's major fundraiser each year. Five hundred guests will attend this year's dinner, which is sold out.

"Although we would love to be able to open it up to more people, at this late date we cannot add anybody," Davidson says.

Pence canceled campaign events over the weekend after a 2005 video of Donald Trump making lewd comments about women surfaced.

He hit the campaign trail again yesterday in Charlotte, North Carolina and he'll attend a town hall at the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Newton, Iowa Tuesday afternoon before traveling to Bettendorf.

Arkansas US Senator Tom Cotton will also speak at the dinner. At 39, he's the youngest serving United States Senator.

Cotton practiced private law and served on the US Court of Appeals, before spending five years on active duty with the Army as an Infantry Officer. He won election to the US Senate last year, and currently serves on the Banking, Intelligence, and Armed Services committees.

Other speakers include Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, US Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, and Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate. The 8th annual Scott County Republican's Reagan Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf.

Davidson encourages guests to arrive early. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and everybody will have to pass through metal detectors.
