Management Change at Deere

John Deere

A long career at John Deere will end next month for a member of the senior management team. Tuesday the company announced Max Guinn will retire in November.

He has served as president of the Worldwide Construction and Forestry Division since 2014, and directed last year's acquisition of the Wirtgen Group - Deere's largest acquisition ever.

Guinn joined the company as an engineer in 1980.

Taking his place as president of Worldwide Construction and Forestry will be James Field who's now president of Deere's Agriculture and Turf Division.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
