Loebsack Tours Figge Art Museum

WVIK Staff

To show his support for the arts, and federal funding for them, Dave Loebsack stopped in Davenport today. The 2nd District Congressman from Iowa City toured the Figge Art Museum, and three exhibits that received federal support.

He says the National Endowment for the Arts is a favorite target in Congress.

Support for the exhibits came directly from the NEA or from other federal agencies to state and local organizations, and then to the museum.

When asked if the NEA is at risk this year, Loebsack says it's at risk every year.
One of the exhibits he viewed is "Girls in Justice" by Richard Ross - it closes on Sunday.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
