With time running out until the Iowa Caucuses, candidates for president or their surrogates turned out in force Saturday night for the annual gala of the Scott County Democratic Party in Bettendorf.
After the first week of the impeachment trial, US Senator and presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar focused on ethics.
"But we also know this is more than even an economic check on this president. This is a patriotism check. This is a values check. This is a decency check. That's what this election is about. "
And she urged her fellow Democrats to take heart from recent victories in gubernatorial elections in Louisiana, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.
Fellow senator and presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, called this a scary time, but she’s optimistic Americans will make the right decision in the fall.
"This moment will not come our way again. This is our moment to choose courage over fear, our moment to dream big and fight hard, our moment to win."
Along with the two headliners, Scott County Democrats heard from many local and statewide candidates including those running for US Senate and Congress.
