Preparing for what it calls "crowds of eager holiday shoppers," JC Penney will hold its second annual National Hiring Day on Tuesday. The company has announced plans to hire 37,000 seasonal workers for a variety of jobs.

Applicants can go to any of its 850 stores across the country, including those in the Quad Cities, for in-person interviews. On-line applications will also be accepted.
JC Penney expects to hire up to 350 people for seasonal jobs in its Iowa stores, and 1,100 for stores in Illinois. The hours for National Hiring Day, in any store, will be 2 to 8 pm.
In the Quad Cities, stores are located in Southpark and Northpark malls, plus Dubuque, Peoria, Freeport, Coralville, and Rockford.
