Inslee Will Tour Flood Damage in Davenport

Inslee 2020

Democratic presidential candidate Jay Inslee will visit Davenport Wednesday morning. The governor of Washington state will tour the downtown area affected by flooding, and meet with several business owners still cleaning up and hoping to re-open.

Inslee is basing much of his campaign on climate change, and what he's done about it in his home state. He believes climate change is causing more flooding in the midwest, and more intensive flooding.

Last month Inslee traveled to southwest Iowa to see flood damage caused by the Missouri River.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
