When Frank Klipsch was sworn in last night as mayor of Davenport, Bill Gluba officially ended his eight years in office. And he says that makes him the second longest serving mayor in city history.
Gluba says he's spent the last couple of weeks packing up his office.
And he lists a lot of major accomplishments from those eight years as mayor - new parks and other projects on the riverfront, the Freight House and farmers market, residential and commercial projects downtown, and his cooperative relationship with aldermen.
Gluba also says Davenport has grown during his tenure - adding about 5,000 people, and 1.5 billion dollars worth of new development and expansion projects.
As for life after city hall, he's already renewed his real estate license.
Gluba also served in the Iowa House and Senate, and on the Scott County Board.
