First Eagle Egg

Alcoa
From the Eaglecam at Alcoa's Davenport Works

The eagles at the Quad Cities' Alcoa plant are now sitting on their first egg of the year. It showed up this afternoon for the first time on the Eaglecam near the plant in Riverdale.Plant spokesman John Riches says the egg belongs to Liberty and Justice, a nesting pair that people locally and across the country have followed for the past six years.

Riches says eagle eggs typically hatch within about 35 days.  A second egg could be laid as soon as this weekend, and if there's a third, it would probably be laid early next week.

The Eaglecam is available at Alcoa.com/eaglecam.
