For the first time since last summer, Black Hawk College will receive money from the state, but it won't be much.
Thanks to the emergency higher education funding bill signed Monday by the governor, its allocation is 1.1 million dollars, according to vice president of finance, Steve Frommelt.
As a result of so many months without any state support, Black Hawk has laid off 32 faculty and staff.
The emergency funding bill included 74 million dollars to be divided among all the community colleges in Illinois.
