Finalists for Davenport Superintendent

Three finalists for superintendent will visit the Davenport School District next week. Each day, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, one of the candidates will tour the district and meet with staff, students, parents, and community leaders.

- Eric Knost is the superintendent of the Rockwood School District in St. Louis, a job he's held for four years.

- Robert Kobylski has served as superintendent of a grade school district for two years, and superintendent of a high school district for five years - both are in the Milwaukee area.

- and the third finalist is William Schneden, who's currently the Associate Superintendent for the Davenport schools, a job he's held since 2012.

Last weekend, the school board interviewed six people, then narrowed the list to these three.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
