Family of Shooting Victim Still Asking for Justice Two Years Later

Marianna Bacallao, WVIK News

Tomorrow marks two years since Corey Harrell Jr. was shot to death behind Moline City Hall. Detectives and family of the victim are still asking witnesses to come forward.

Rev. Tyson Parks III says his cousin was murdered in broad daylight at 10 a.m. on Halloween of 2018. He knows someone out there has information to bring his cousin's killer to justice. He urges them to think about the son his cousin left behind.

"I just want you to think about that, that a child has to grow up without his father. When he takes his first steps, when he goes to the baseball game, his dad's not going to be there."

Corey Harrell Jr. was 21 years old when he was killed in 2018.

Jon Leach is a detective with the Moline Police Department. He says Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for any tips leading to an arrest.

"The $10,000 reward is out there, and you can use P3 Tips to communicate through the reporting app. It's completely anonymous. Or the telephone number is (309)-762-9500."

Leach says police have recieved tips in the past two years since Harrell's death, but none of them have panned out. They believe the attack may have been premeditated.
