A woman who grew up in the Quad Cities will be the next leader of Renew Moline, the public-private partnership that promotes development in the city. Alexandra Elias will take over June lst, and replace Janet Mathis who resigned last year.
After graduating from Davenport Central High School, Elias attended the University of Iowa, then the University of North Carolina, where she earned a master's degree in city and regional planning. She has worked for the past nine years for the city of San Diego, and its downtown redevelopment agency.
Renew Moline was founded in 1989, and since then has helped bring 350 million dollars worth of private investment to the city.
