A 23-year-old Dubuque man has died after being struck by a train. On Saturday, police responded to the railroad tracks near Key City Recycling on Dodge Street.
According to Lieutenant Mike Schmidt, with the Dubuque Police Department, the train's engineer said the man came around the corner, got on the track, and was struck by the train.
Upon arrival, officers determined the person was deceased. And later, identified him as 23-year old, Samuel Bettcher, of Dubuque.
His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny for an autopsy.
