Dubuque aldermen are set to vote tonight on buying more land to expand an industrial park.
The city doesn't want to run out of space at the Dubuque Industrial Center West. So it's arranged to buy 166 acres from the Graf family. Its farm is adjacent to the center.
Economic Development Director, Maurice Jones says businesses located in the existing industrial park, which is around 900 acres, have been successful and created jobs.
The purchase price is about two million dollars. Dubuque plans to spend another seven million to build roads, sewers, and water lines.
