Deere and Company will work with researchers to put new technology to work on the shop floor.
Michelle O'Neill reports, the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute has announced seven new projects, and Deere will participate in three of them.

Craig Sutton is Deere and Company's Manager of Advanced Manufacturing Innovation. He says company engineers will work with Iowa State University on two projects. The first will be to use augmented reality instead of written instructions for machine operators.
The second project Deere will undertake with Iowa State is to develop software, which will help manufacturers avoid errors when designing new parts and products.
And the third digital lab project for Deere is called Factboard. Sutton says its purpose is to design a system that collects data from supply and production lines, then puts all that information into a visual dashboard for plant managers to decide on-the-spot how to save time and money.
