Davenport's Harrison Street to Reopen Tomorrow

Photo From Palmer College's website

Businesses along Harrison Street in Davenport are ready to open their doors to more customers. Today, the city announced resurfacing and sewer work is complete and Harrison Street will re-open tomorrow.

Hilltop Campus Village director Scott Tunnicliff  says that's good news for businesses who were struggling during the project.
Tunnicliff says customer traffic along Harrison Street was down by nearly 50 percent, even though most businesses were open during the project. Even though the street is re-opening, he says it's important to remind customers they can still shop there.

He says business is still growing in the area.

Crews will take down barricades on Harrison Street tomorrow morning, and Brady Street will return to one-way traffic.

The project was scheduled to be finished by the end of the year.

I am currently a senior at Augustana College, majoring in Multimedia Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor in Creative Writing. I serve as the General Manager for WAUG.fm, Augustana's online student radio station and have worked as an intern and DJ at Studstill Media Group. I report on local news for WVIK and am honored and excited to be a part of the news team. I hope to pursue a career in radio broadcasting and an eventual master's degree in English or Communications.
