The Mississippi River is rising and Davenport is preparing for minor flooding. The National Weather Service says the river should reach flood stage in the Quad Cities early next week.

The Mississippi is currently 3 feet below flood stage, and forecast to reach flood stage next Monday.

Crews in Davenport have placed "high water" signs along South Concord Street and River Drive. Sections of South Concord Street could be closed this weekend.

Upstream at Dubuque, the Mississippi is expected to crest at flood stage by Friday afternoon, and then fall next week.

At Camanche, the river should crest half-a-foot below flood stage by Sunday.

In both Fulton and Muscatine, the Mississippi River should stay about a foot below flood stage until next week.
