Davenport Employees Prepare for Snow

Besides reopening roads after minor flooding on the Mississippi River, Davenport's Public Works Department is preparing for snow.

The city says today and tomorrow, crews are putting a salt solution on streets and roads marked as snow routes. And over the weekend, employees will be ready to plow  or apply more salt as needed.

The Mississippi crested just under flood stage last weekend. And it's dropped about one foot since Monday morning. It's forecast to drop another foot by Saturday. Check here for the current river level at Lock and Dam 15.

South Concord Street in Davenport will remain closed between River Drive and Utah Avenue until a crew cleans it up. That could be as early as tomorrow.

The riverfront bike path between Credit Island and LeClaire Park was closed during the flood, but should re-open today or tomorrow.

And the boat dock at Marquette Landing will remain out of the water for at least two more weeks. More information is here, on the left under "News & Notices."
