Charges Filed for Weekend Shootings in R.I.

Rock Island Police Department

A Rock Island man faces several serious charges, including murder, following shootings in downtown Rock Island over the weekend. Monday afternoon, police arrested 42 year old Dewaun Berry for first degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

A fight broke out in The District about 2 am Saturday and six people were wounded, including 43 year old Jesse Brand Junior who died. The other victims were take to various hospitals and trauma centers.
Bond for Berry is set at 5 million dollars.
