The race for Rock Island County sheriff in Tuesday's primary election turned out not to be very close at all. Incumbent Gerry Bustos easily won the democratic nomination with 80 per cent of the vote, over former sheriff Jeff Boyd who finished with 20 per cent.
Bustos will go on to face republican Keko Martinez in the general election - Martinez ran un-opposed in the GOP primary.
