BHC Board Interviews Consultants

Trustees of Black Hawk College are planning to hire a consultant to help them search for a new president. Thursday night the board will interview three possible firms.

The consultant will help find a replacement for President Bettie Truitt who's going to retire next month, and their hope is to finish the search by next summer.

Meanwhile, the board will also have to find someone to lead the college on an interim basis for up to six months while the search goes on.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
