Bettendorf is thinking about the future of its recreation facilities. This month, the parks and recreation department is asking residents to participate in an online survey about the Splash Landing Aquatic Center, Goettsch Community Center, and Life Fitness Center.
Director, Steve Grimes, says the three are each over thirty years old and are used by up to 100,000 people a year. As they age, they require more maintenance.
Bettendorf has hired The Sports Facilities Advisory, a national firm, to oversee the study, which includes an online survey. It asks residents how often they use the centers, whether they'd like to see them renovated, and where they think the funding should come from.
Bettendorf residents have until November 22nd to complete the online survey, which is on the city's website.
Officials will discuss the findings of the survey and study in February.
