Bettendorf Council Chooses Brown

city of Bettendorf

The Bettendorf City Council selected a new Alderman At-Large Tuesday night. Lisa Brown will be sworn in at the council's next meeting on March 7.

Brown replaces Gary Mohr, who was elected in November to represent District 94 in the Iowa House.

One of six finalists interviewed by the City Council Monday night, she previously served as at-large alderman for 14 years and was a member of the Park Board for four.

Brown worked for Scott Community College, starting in 1990, including serving as Dean of Student Development and Athletic Director from 2001-2014. Currently she works for Iowa Legal Aid.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
