Benedictine Sister Stresses Need For Systemic Change, Not Just Charity

Sister Roberta "Bobbi" Bussan is the director of Benet House, a spiritual retreat center in southwest Rock Island which hosts groups of all faiths and denominations. She is also involved with St. Joseph the Worker House, a transitional shelter in Rock Island for homeless women and their children.

"Sister Bobbi" will be one of the panelists at WVIK's "Intelligent Conversations" speaker series on April 11, centered around "Real People Working To Change The World"— taken from the title of a book by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nicholas Kristof, who will keynote the event.

The Benedictine nun came to the studios of WVIK to talk about how she works to change the world, right here in the Quad Cities, through her ministry and outreach:
