With several inches of snow in the forecast, cities in this area will be declaring snow emergencies. And that means be careful where you park your car.
In Rock Island, for example, once two inches of snow have fallen, parking is not allowed on any marked snow route until the snow has stopped and the street has been cleared.
The rules are similar in Davenport and other cities, and you're asked as much as possible not to park on residential streets to help crews clear the snow faster.
In downtown Davenport, parking ramps will be free during the snow storm until Sunday morning.
