Augustana College now has the top-ranked team in NCAA Division III men's basketball.

The Vikings took the #1 spot in a national poll released Monday by d3hoops.com. The rankings are voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports information directors, and reporters from across the country.

So far this season, the Vikings have 19 wins and only 1 loss. They are undefeated in conference play in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).

Defending national champion Nebraska Wesleyan University from Lincoln, Nebraska, fell from #1 to #2, after suffering their first loss to Loras College from Dubuque on Saturday.

Loras is also the only team that has beaten Augustana this season, when they eked out a 74-73 win at home in November.

The Vikings this season are averaging 80 points per game. They are shooting 49% from the field and 73% from the free throw line.

Senior point guard Nolan Ebel leads the team in scoring, averaging 17 points per game.

In December, head coach Grey Giovanine picked up his 400th Augustana career win.

The last time the Vikings were ranked #1 was February 2016.

They have three home games left in the season. The next is this Saturday night, when they play North Park University from Chicago.
