The new season begins in a few weeks for the Augustana College football team. The Vikings finished last season with a record of 1-9 overall, 1-7 in the CCIW.
It's Coach Steve Bell's fourth season in Rock Island, and he hopes injuries aren't as much of a problem this year. Another key to success this season will be experience. Bell says a lot of Augustana players are returning to the team, especially on offense.

The Vikings will start the new season on the road at Coe College in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, September 1st.
On Wednesday, Augustana will scrimmage with the Monmouth College Fighting Scots. Bell was the head coach at Monmouth before coming to the Quad Cities about three years ago.
