Arsenal Employee Tests Positive

An Arsenal employee has tested positive for COVID-19. Wednesday the Army Sustainment Command on Arsenal Island announced a civilian worker was tested locally, and as a resident of Scott County, is now one of the cases reported by the state of Iowa.

His or her work station has been sealed off in preparation for deep cleaning, and everyone who worked in the area of this employee was told to go home and self-quarantine. ASC is also trying to track down all those who may have had contact with this person during the past two weeks.

It's the first positive case of COVID-19 on the island.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
