2019 Banished Words List

www.tagxedo.com

Politicians, talking heads, and young people have once again contributed to the degradation of our language. That's according to the self-appointed guardians at Lake Superior State University in Michigan who've just released their 44th annual list of Words Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-use, Over-use, and General Uselessness.

Herb Trix reports.

The website for nominations is lssu.edu/banished.

A native of Detroit, Herb Trix began his radio career as a country-western disc jockey in Roswell, New Mexico (“KRSY, your superkicker in the Pecos Valley”), in 1978. After a stint at an oldies station in Topeka, Kansas (imagine getting paid to play “Louie Louie” and “Great Balls of Fire”), he wormed his way into news, first in Topeka, and then in Freeport Illinois.
