Benjamin Payne hosts Morning Edition on WVIK, and also reports spot news and feature stories for the WVIK newsroom. As a graduate of Augustana College, he majored in Multimedia Journalism & Mass Communication. Before coming to WVIK, he served a reporting internship at WBEZ in Chicago, volunteered with the Augustana Public Radio Information Service (APRIS), and participated in NPR's Next Generation Radio project.

Students at Augustana College recently held the first Gus' Garage Sale to raise money to build wells in Africa, and to prevent some castoffs from being sent to landfills.

If you had box seat tickets for the June 29th game between the Quad Cities River Bandits and Beloit Snappers, chances are you had a tough time finding an open spot in the bleachers.

That's because the River Bandits gave away dozens of free tickets for that night's game. It was the team's way of saying thank you to the fans for voting Modern Woodmen Park the best Class A ballpark in the nation in an online contest held by Ballpark Digest.
