A Wisconsin man is dead after a pickup and semitrailer truck collided Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 39 south of El Paso.
The crash happened around 4:43 p.m. Wednesday on southbound I-39 near mile marker 13, authorities said. Preliminary information indicates the pickup was trying to pass the semi when the crash happened, State Police said.
Killed in the crash was the 82-year-old driver of the pickup, who was from Hudson, Wisconsin. His passenger — an 82-year-old, also from Wisconsin — and the driver of the semi were hospitalized with serious injuries, police said. Names have not been released.
State Police and the Woodford County coroner's office are investigating. More information is expected to be released Thursday morning.
